I was reading some people say to run their light 24/7 while others say 12 hrs. Really not sure how long to run it for. I added some chaeto to my refug just don’t know how long to run the light for. I got a 19W led bulb

8-12 hours is a decent starting point. You don't want to run it 24/7.

I've seen posts from several people who run theirs in opposition to the main tank's lighting schedule, to help maintain a more constant pH. That's what I'm doing until I find a reason to do otherwise.
More to the point, it maintains oxygen

What should determin your photo period duration is inorganic nutrient levels more specifically NO3.
Longer illumination means more photosynthesis means more inorganic nutrient assimilation & lower levels.
Start at 12 hours & increase if you want lower NO3, or reduce if you want higher NO3.
