How long to wait for silicone to set? - NOTE: Not for structural integrity, but for chemicals/livestock safety!

I made some changes to my sump, and used silicone to move some sump chambers around.
These changes don't need to be water tight. There won't be pressure on parts the silicone is adhering.
How long does it take for silicone to set to where it's not outgassing or leeching out chemicals for the corals and fish in my tank?

It depends on what kind it is but most silicone made for aquariums is acetic acid based, IIRC. This needs at least 24 hours, but I have always waited 3-7 days with a fan blowing in there. What does the tube say?

I would go with what tube says… wait another 24 - 48 hours if you want to be extra cautious

Good trouble: Have mushrooms ever become pests in your aquarium?
