I have a QT/ observation tank that I've had up for 4 months now. I keep it going since I'm in a place where I'm adding fish every couple of months after they pass the test. I have a few rocks and pipes in there, no sand, just the basics to provide biological filtration and give the fish something to swim around. The tank has some snails and hermits in there to clean it since it's getting pretty gross. My question is how low can I bring the salinity down without hurting the snails and hermits? I order my fish online since my LFS usually carries clowns and damsels. Online fish usually arrive in 20 to 22 ppt salinity so I make my tank match the fishes water rather than the fish match the tank. I then spend the next 4 to 6 weeks watching and raising the salinity up to match my DT.

I would suggest to not keep inverts in a fish QT.
