How many couples?

Out of curiosity, I am wondering how many couples do the reef tank hobby together?

As a couple, do you share any other hobbies together?

I build the tanks, maintain the tanks, and give hubby specific stock choices on the tank (a or b) we look at the tank together.... Does this count as us both being in the hobby together? Lol

We met through our martial arts school.

I do all the maintenance but she picks out some corals and helps me acclimate them haha

My wife feeds the fish in the morning. Everything else is on me

My wife complains about all my time spent with my salty mistress and how much I spend on her. Does that count?

Pretty much the same. It is up to me to do everything but luckily she wants to learn. We both enjoy trips to the LFS together, I pay for it though!

My wife likes the tank, but doesn't "do" anything with it. She likes the fish more than coral and will actively speak her mind on what fish she wants. The coral will usually be a yeah, unless she is actively opposed to the look of something and then she will say no. She will often say do you want to go look for fish or coral at a store regardless of how long it takes us to go lol.

As for other hobbies, we like to game together. We both have custom PC's that I've built so that we can play together which is a huge bonus to anyone else that knows how much time you can sink into gaming. Spending time together that way is really enjoyable and makes sure we can play without someone feeling left out.

When I bought my first reef tank my girlfriend hated it. I don't know why, It was beautiful and it kicked butt. Yeah, it dominated the room, but it was a big room and the tank was beautiful and kicked butt! Now I have a beautiful, kick-butt wife who loves the fish tank as much as I do. She spends as much time and money on it as I do (more actually) and we are up to 3 tanks. 2 saltwater and 1 planted fresh. Couldn't do it without her.
