I'm a newbie and curious of how many fish I can keep or get up to in a new build for reef tank. I currently have
2) clowns
2) dart gobies
2) Diamond gobies
Chocolate mimic tang
Orange shoulder tang
Blue tang
3) skunk shrimp
10) hermits
4) snails left ( 6 have died over the past 6 months)

Would like to get a fox face and a few more smaller fish that are compatible that swim thru the rocks and off set the look of the bigger fish. I have a 180 gallon tank and about 6 months old. Thanks for the advise

Welcome to reef2reef !!
Your going to want to rehome the blue tang. They need a 250 or bigger. You can get a fox face but your tank looks new and you should take things slow
1 fish each month

I'm waiting on my fish but like to look ahead on future tank mates prior to getting them. Did not know the hippo needed that big of a tank, but now knowing I can start hinting to my wife I'm going bigger. She's going to be so stoked, thanks for the advice and response
