I thought your nitrate was 0.00 ppm

Your tank is certainly NOT nitrogen limited. Limited means the algae and corals cannot grow more since they are lacking an “ingredient”

Think about having 5 cookies and 10 cups of milk. Once you dipped 5 cookies in 5 cups of milk, you can’t use the remaining cups of milk since you are “cookie-limited.”

That is not the case here since nitrate was already more than detectable.

Yeah, my tank is like me, we both like cookies. You found a good analogy. I have crazy par and crazy flow. I guess I spiked a small bloom. I did just remember something too. Perhaps important :) I changed my halides Sunday. I never ran radium’s before. I have them in now. I’ll add too that my nitrate has been on a very steady decline since February. My ICP then had my No3 at 33. Since then I have upped my feedings (9 times a day, 5 frozen 4 flake). This tank has been a fun ride since getting it wet in November (I consolidated systems…)

@Miami Reef - just an update. I’m 10 days into dosing this now. The tank had a 36 hour adjustment phase. Part of that adjustment phase was a quick algae outbreak that was gone as fast as it came. Consumption is up. I’m still at 70 mil of the solution into 525ish g. My nutrients are holding solid as 12/.11. Coral growth is really good. But it has been. I’m at 7.5 hours for my halides and 10 for my T5 with full spectrum on the LEDs for 9. I just confirmed that. I’m going to extend my halides another 60 minutes today and also increase ammonia dose to 100 mil a day. That is over 8 hours I think. Once I get my halides to 10 hours, I want to get my LEDs from 94%ish to 98% all channels.

Hi , I have some ammonium bicarb coming tomoz and interested in what amounts to dose my tank is 800L sps and low nutrients nitrate at 1.7 any advice to how much to mix up and how much to dose and the best time .And will it be ok on a dose or should I manually dose to see how it goes .thanks
