15 gallon cube reef. I just set it up today and stated the cycling process. I plan to add some chemi pure blue after the cycle is complete since now I just have the filter sock. How much should I use? I plan on having 3 fish eventually and it’ll be a soft coral tank. The have the 5.5oz which is good for 35 gallons or the 22gram bags good for 5 gallons each. I’ve read it’s good not to put too much of this stuff so I wanted to get some of your guys input. Thanks.

I use Chemipure elite in my softy cube. I use a full 11.7 ounce unit at a time (it can’t easily be divided because it has three layered components). I change it out every 3 months.

I know some folks use Chemipure Blue, but even if one wants to use a Chemipure product, blue is not among those I would recommend.

FWIW, the ion exchange resin portion is largely wasted in seawater and will not bind phosphate from seawater. The ion exchange resin may bind some organic matter, but if that is the goal, why not just use a material designed for that purpose?

So what would you guys recommend I run in my AIO tank sump portion? It’s a 15 gallon tank with about 10 gallons of actual water it’ll be a softie reef with 3 fish. I have a filter sock in the first chamber, empty second chamber, and my pump heater and ato in the third chamber. What should I add to the second chamber?

Depends on what you want to accomplish.

For organic removal, I use ROX 0.8 activated carbon and skimming, but Chemipure (original or elite) or Seachem Purigen are alternatives.

Just curious on why you left out chemi pure blue? I thought that was just a carbon with purigen in it?
