Just curious what your thoughts are on how many blue leg hermits, astrea snails or turbo snails you recommend per gallon. Or do you have a better recommendation of inverts?

I would say it depends on how much your feeding and how many fish you have. I personally don't have a guideline per gallon that I follow, I just watch my tank and add them as necessary. Currently in my 90 gallon I have probably 40+ hermits and 40+ snails of all variety and size. That equates to about .5 Hermit and .5 Snail per gallon I guess.

My cuc had depleted to almost nothing and it started to show. I added 15 each of hermits and snails. Wow, I forgot what a difference they make. I have a 55 gallon and was thinking of adding 25 each more, but I have some lingering algae that needs cleaned up.

I usually order my CUC from Reefs2go.com with great success. Their prices are great and they have pre built CUC's ready to rock that include critters that I normally wouldn't buy but end up being an essential part of the team. I would check them out.

No affiliation BTW. I'm just a frequent online customer.

Check with John at Reefcleaners for a custom cleanup crew, I've had nothing but great experiences ordering from him. There's a 10% discount on orders sale going on right now as well.

I've always had great success with clean up crews from reefcleaners.org. The hermits go crazy with algae.

They have recommendations based on tank size.

Agreed 10000%! Reefs2Go seems to be having a lot of problems with their orders. Do a search and you'll see how bad its been.John at Reefcleaners will take care of you.

I usually buy a few different types of snails so they fit in different size spaces. I like the red banded trochus snail because it has a cool look and works well for me. I also have a few mexican turbos and asteras. I like the answer of letting the tank tell you what it needs… well said jmsk
