How much damage did I do to my BTA?

They are really hardy creatures. Especially if you got a naturally split tank raised fella.

Most worriesome thing that will let you know it’s really going down would be that it detached from the rock and is free floating, and / or its mouth is gaping open so you can see its insides.

If neither of these are happening it has a great chance!

45g. This nem has been in the last tank for quite awhile. And it has split a few times From what I can see its still nestled in the live rock and not easy to see. Would it be a good idea to dismantle the rocks and check for signs of life. Theres no bad odor or signs that its dead. The tentacles I can see have the usual pink color to them.

No. Best thing to do in my opinion is to leave it alone. It can move and will expand when ready.

Get your salt to the right salinity, keep that and the temp stable.

Verify the intensity of your light.

One option is join local reef club that has one to rent out.

Two, make friends with LFS that willl allow you to borrow rent

Third rent (buy and return) one to bulkreefsupply. The have a protocol for it. Basically like renting it.

Few things I do for my tanks in the beginning to be max healthy long run:

Add a vibrant mix of copepods. Algaebarn and I get their bundle of 4 for 180. 1 bottle is plenty from anywhere long as you see live ones. Diversity is better imo, and algae is the reigning queen.

Next I go to reef cleaners and go down the list of snails and cool things to add and I get two to 20 depending on how expensive they are!!!

I personally am anti crab and will only hand pick a few hermits that are super small.

I get all the snails!!! ALL of THEM. Pay attention to fuzzy chiton, limpets, and other inverts like that. May not be considered snails. Mine have multiplied or grown with the tank.

I don’t go crazy with shrimps. I get a couple peppermint for aiptasia. Big fan of CBB for that as well.

Did you add rock from the restaurant tank with the nems?

If not, wouldn’t be a bad idea to ask the fella for a piece of mature rock. Instant way to add established bacteria colonies that tak long period of time to form.

Not a dealbreaker though. It’s already happening.

What would I be renting/borrowing?

I have a Current Orbit marine LED thats tracked by the loop app. I added pics of what they're set at.

WE LOVE SNAILS! Well…I do atleast We have 2 hermits that I love and fuss over.

Still no change in Bubbles (nem). It *looks* like there is some sort of movement (hopefully its not just wishful thinking)

Im actively working on the salinity. Im ordering a better testing kit and hydrometer - just have to figure out which is best from the diff ones that were recomended

And then figure out what to do about the red string algae on the substrate

The frags he gifted is are on fairly nice chunks on rocks. Pretty sure it introduced something that killed our fish with the exception of a damsel and our cleanup crew.

Unfortunately there is never a way to know exactly. I always just ignore the cause and try and keep the ship going.

Par meter reads the intensity of the light for the corals.

You stick a little sensor in your water and it tells you how much light it’s getting.

They are pricey, but there are some alternatives to getting one. Fortunate thing is you only need it for like 45 min then your done.

No way else to really know on lights. In my opinion this is something you should do, but maybe not as an emergency. Just to check.

Join local forums / Facebook groups and see if anyone can stop by with one or rent one. If your in a larger city like me we have a club with a few meters that gets passed around.

Get the salinity up and I would guess with stable temp / salinity he will be out in several days. Fingers crossed!
