Tek T5 unit I bought 10 years ago. I think it was in the 4-500$ range, but it will last forever. I did have to buy a 30 ballast once. Plus 100-150$, depending on sales, every 18 months for bulbs.

I calculated the lighting portion of my power bill to about 8 bucks a month on cheap Nebraska public power.

Edit: 6 foot 125 gallon tank.

Three "Noop iis" over a 6ft full of zoas/palys. Love 'em. I speak highly of them on here all the time.

Let me trade in those for "iiis" and I'll do a 10min video review on YouTube and here ;)

Electric bill? Everytime I ask my wife the Accountant she gives me "the look". I believe our overall electric bill is in the high $200s per month fir a 3bedroom 2500sq ft house with a 6ft 180g DT

$240 for 2 165w viparspectra on a 90G. No clue on electric cost but could probably calculate it. Less than 1/2 power so maybe 150W total for 12 hrs .... 1.8kwh per day. Let’s call it 50kwh per month at about 10 cents per kWh. Around $5/month.

No clue on electric cost but my light was $240. Typically since I’ve always ran smaller tanks I’ve purchased AI Primes for $220 each. On my next go around I might go for an XR15

For my 650g system I’ve been building I have 4 xr30 g5 pros for the 210g and 4 6ft reef brite xhos. On the sps 60g grow out tank I have 2 xr30 G5 pros and the aquariclife T5 hybrid, on the 60g lps zoa grow out I have 2 xr15 g5 pros and a single 4ft reefbrite xho and for the 80g frag tank I have 2 xr30 g5 pros and a single 4ft reef brite xho. On the biocube 29 holding tank I have a single xr15 g5 pro with the reef brite add on kit.

so that’s a total of 8 xr30s G5 pros
3 xr15 G5 pros and 6 reef brite xhos 4 6ft and 2 4ft and a 4 bulb T5 hybrid.

As well as a Kessil A360x refugium light and 2 kessil A160s for my frag swap show tank.

Now if I remember correctly I paid $650 a piece for the xr30s (at cost from my plug) which was still $5,200, I spent around $2k I think for the reef brites (again at cost) and I think I got $75 off each xr15 and maybe $250 on the 4 bulb T5 hybrid.

All paid for by selling high end coral.

My newest lights I paid $900 for, but I haven't recieved them yet.

BTW @noopsyche have you shipped my order yet. LOL

ETA in electricity my lights use about $25/month.
Your order is already on the air plane~~ and you will receive it soon(about next week) ;)terribly sorry for that China has a holiday from October 1st to 7th.So we can only arrange shipment after the holiday

Warm reminder from DHL: As Hong Kong is affected by the typhoon and Hong Kong’s "Chongyang Festival" holiday, the backlog of goods, transit and unloading are severely affected. Most of the goods via Hong Kong DHL will have serious delays in shipment, pickup and transshipment! Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Yea I found out about Golden week. I was just giving you a hard time.
I guess you matched my username up to the name on my order? I guess that isn't too hard since my last name is Tinnel.
Thanks for the update though, I can't wait to get them.

About $400 for a 6 foot MH AquaMedic fixture with m80 ballasts. Had it more than a decade. Bulbs at $120 a year to change. Quick math says about 25 a month to run them at 900 watts and that does save me some heating costs - we have pretty cheap power here. ...pretty cheap.
