How much did your Tank Setup Cost??

All of it

Don't. It's a trap...
I told my wife I was adding it up and she stopped dead in her tracks and said don’t because I’ll have to get rid of the tank. I started to tell her my estimate and she yelled at me. Hahahahaha

Less than everyone who bought things brand new I suppose. Much of my setup is used since it's the best bang for the buck method.

My current setup is a standard 90g tank/stand/canopy I snatched up for $300.
External overflow kit - $80
2 black boxes $60/ea - $120
29g tank/sump - $20
Return pump $60
Heater $20
Diy algae scrubber w/leds - $30
WaveMaker - $60
100lbs LR 9yrs old $2/lb - $200
Sand - $30
Misc & plumbing - $100

So just over $1k for a complete setup minus livestock costs.

Hahaha yea...... we don't talk about that but if my wife asks it was only a couple hundred lol
The 1st rule of Reef Club is We don't talk about Reef Club!...especially to the wife!

On the record (to my family) I bought everything during Black Friday and was a really good deal.
Off the record- You don’t wanna know
Awesome!!

Lets just say if we all quit the hobby today, we can all fly to Hawaii on first class and stay five star for at least a month with diving trips to the “real” reef daily
And scope out some Yellow Tangs!!

It all depends on how I look at it with having my real receipt or the made up fake wife receipt… My LFS really makes me a fake receipt so if my wife asks how much did that $180 fish cost. $20

I get something similar, every 150 bucks I spend I get 5 bucks off. Max is 15 bucks or 450 points. Every point represents a dollar spent. Lets say about every 3rd visit I max out. Usually 3-4 times a year, lol. Probably more so with prices going up. Im much like you, I have one main store for stock (they QT fish) and one main store for coral. The coral one does points also and I'd be ashamed to talk about that one, lol.
Yea, my LFS has a punch card, the more you spend, the more punches you get, when card is maxed out, you get 25% off of all animals (no discount on equipment etc., just animals) so when you get 25% off....time for that fish and a few Corals you really really wanted. I'm on my 3rd card in 2 months....something feels a little off.... :D
