How much flow in 25 lagoon.

I’m getting ready to set up a NUVO 25 Fusion and wanted to know if it would be better to use 2 270gph wave makers or 1 530gph wave maker. I made the mistake of not having the right flow conditions in my other tank and don’t want to replicate that mistake.

Use two 530 gph wave makers at the least. I have two mp10s in my lagoon 25 along with a mighty jet for return flow.

I use a mightyjet 538 for my tank I run it pretty low about at about 350 gph, flows the whole tank.

Depends on what you're gonna be keeping, coral wise. But I'd have 2 powerheads in there in any case.

I also forgot to mention I’m on a budget and was looking to keep the price of wave makers under $80ish.

Way quieter than the stock return pumps, works phenomenal. I'm looking to get some spinstream nozzles for it, they are probably the best random flow generator out there.

Personally I feel 2 is always better than 1, even my 15 gallon has 2 sicce voyagers in it. with one you will get a one-way linear flow, with 2 you can position them to bounce the flow and create random flow patterns.

With your choice of powerheads, you are getting only 20x turnover, which is minimal IMO. Depending what kind of corals you want to keep, you might want some stronger powerheads in case you ever want to turn it up.

In that particular video I was running the Nero at Random (10-30%, High Variance)

Currently I’m running on Pulse (40% 2seconds on 1.5 seconds) off but the tank needs a full restart. It being neglected with overgrown toadstool blocking all light.

I almost wonder if you could get away with one of the longer tube like wave makers. I just picked up this tank and have a random flow generator return pumps for the Jebco pump that puts out around 528 GPH of water. I was looking at something like this hygger Aquarium Wave Maker, Adjustable Cross Flow Pump. Has anyone had experience with longer wave makers in the lagoon style tank? I know there are possible other more reliable brands too. Curious on any recommendations, don't feel like dropping $400 on two Nero 3s yet or $750 for two MP10s. Maybe one AquaIllumination Orbit 2 Cross-Flow Pump would work better? I know they can all be a bit powerful. I do not plan to add anything crazy but I would eventually like to add some torches & euphelia (mostly LPS dominant in the tank with some zoas and other soft coral. Going to focus on growing out a healthy pod population to add a captive bread Mandarin that eats frozen as well first. Thoughts?

I really do like how low the tank is and how wide it is. My red sea cube tank is just much deeper and I can tell this will be so much easier to service and maintain! I honestly want to get it wet as soon as possible to start the cycle. I plan to do a lights out cycle to hopefully prevent or reduce the ugly stage. I likely will do the cycle slowly but I also want to get a healthy pod population going as I would like to add a mandarin. Definitely going to get one from the @Biota_Marine group so it is captive bred & hopefully eats frozen as well although just as a precaution I would like to have a healthy population of pods too!

Still not sure on if I will need a wavemaker or if there is a reasonably priced one out there. I do like the idea of the cross flow pump wave makers but not sure what brand to go with. I would get a more expensive one but I would prefer to get it second hand.
