I am hoping for some answers from the 'zeo' crowd.
I have a 50g tank and run VSV to keep nutrients low, now this works for N03 bit not so well for the PO4 levels (I have a heavy bioload), but I still run close to LNS.
I decided to switch to full zeo (I want to see the difference this makes to my sps corals) one week ago and started with half the recommended amount of the KZ zeolites, with a low-300L/hour-flow rate through a reactor.
I have just started noticing RTN in some of my acro colonies from the tips downwards!!! I have tried to start very slowly. I know that the zeolites remove NH3 and silicates, but what else do they remove and at what speeds?? I had similar issues when I was running GFO and felt that the GFO was stripping out many of the valuable trace elements that the corals need, very fast.
Should I use less zeolites or abandon this method completely??
I really feel like giving up on sps altogether even though my tank has been running for 1 year :frusty:
