Do you know how much it cost to run your reef tank each day? Week? Month?
I have 120 gallon display and 35g sump.
My daily cost not including electricity consumption is $2.60 roughly.
That includes media, fleece, supplements, food, and salt.

Nano reefers, monster tank owners and everyone in between.
Do you know how much it cost to run your reef? Or is it just a black hole for your wallet?

Apex gives me a rough idea on electricity usage. Consumables change depending on what's going on or how/what I'm feeding, dosing, etc.. That's with a 90 gal.

Would be a good exercise to figure out. Luckily with the tank in the basement, dc pumps and led lights I think electricity usage is minimal.

No clue on food. Testing kits and meters probably the most expensive thing.

For me it’s the fleece and dosing cost. Last week I burned through a new fleece roll in ten days.
That’s why I will never own a fleece roller, cost and another expensive component to fail. Filter socks are almost free. I have been using and washing the same socks for the past 6 years now.

I have a 125 gallon and only have 2 fish and one coral so I do not feed it very much and with water changes I purchased 160 tub which last quite some time. I really amnot sure, once I get more fish and softies I will have a better idea.

And going to start with a roller filter...
