It's 100% worth it imo. I (electrician) use my power analyzer luckily .... it's nice to know what things look like summer vs winter here. Of course in Bay area you won't have quite the variance I do lol...Merry Christmas, and enjoy your time off the road Jedi....I am really surprised how many of you have smart plugs. I have never tallied the actual cost of running my tanks. I do know that my bill is a bit higher than it used to be. I may have to invest in a smart plug to get an idea what exactly its costing me.
Are you thinking about moving?Man, I envy some of y'all's cost. We're at .26 per kwh for baseline and it goes up the more you use!
The people's republic of Kalifornia will run me out eventually, I'm sure as he!! won't be retiring here. I lived in Colorado & Illinois previously, so after my father passes on, who knows. He's what has kept me in the L.A. area for the past 11 years. Are you thinking about moving?
Definitely understand your situation- my mom lives nearby and keeps me in NY. Very jealous of these other Reefers that live in less expensive states. Crazy that you can cut living expenses in half just by changing location!!!The people's republic of Kalifornia will run me out eventually, I'm sure as he!! won't be retiring here. There's always a price. Such as, for instance, waking up and finding out that it's -41C outside, and realizing that it's not even the coldest temperature you've seen this year.Definitely understand your situation- my mom lives nearby and keeps me in NY. Or it could be 80 degrees outside with NO state or city income tax, no mask mandates, and lower crime. There's always a price. Such as, for instance, waking up and finding out that it's -41C outside, and realizing that it's not even the coldest temperature you've seen this year.
I usually run a credit with my gas company about 9 months a year. Literally from March until November, they owe me money (big yearly rebate for smart thermostat). That's insane. Flip side is the 200-250 dollar a month electric bills in the summer and that's cheap here where I am in So. Cal.....
I once had a gas bill for $68, and only 58 cents was attributed to the actual cost of the product (this was in August). Insane!

Look at the information label on each electrical device. Multiply the stated watts by the hours that each device is ”on”each day. Add these up. This is the watt-hours per day. Multiply this by thirty and divide by 1000. This is the kilowatt-hours used in a month. The electrical bill always states what a kilowatt-hour costs and there you have it.I have a waterbox 35.1, hydra 32hd, nero 5, wavelink, return pump, heater, reef octopus 110.
My kids mom said the bill went up 150,00 because of fishtank, I don't believe it!
