We only have one decent store up here. I tend to go on most of my days off and spend about an hour there, at least. I also have a habit of texting the owner throughout the week, which is probably the worst part...
I work at one of them, so 10 hrs a day on those days, buts it's freshwater only so I need to get my salt fix elsewhere. Our salty LFSs aren't too spectacular and the staff aren't super friendly -I work for a competing install/maintenance company- so I'm usually in and out in a half hour, or less if the hubby and kids are with me.
My LFS is unfortunately (or fortunately :)) 5 minutes from home and is on the way to my office (which is 10 minutes away). That being said, I send WAY too much time there.....normally there every other day or so for about 45 minutes each time. I think I should just get a part time job there lol.
I have a great LFS very near my house, and when getting started, I spent a lot of time there. I noticed the same people there all the time. I vowed not to become one of them. Well, I now call some of them friends!!! Only go about once every two weeks at this point, so I'm recovering.
I try to go at least every Tuesday...the one closest to my house is closed on Mondays for shipments. If my husband tags along with me I only manage to get about 30 minutes so now I try to go in morning while he is at work so I have until grandkids get off bus from school at 2pm. Other lfs is hour away but try to make it at least once a month.
To much time... I noticed I I spend way to much time on this hobby. I started to cut down the time on forums and looking at fish and corals online. There's a whole world out there! Plus the more you leave the tank alone the better off for the tank.
When I can make it down to my LFS, I usually spend maybe around 30 to 60 minutes. I have not been to any LFS for a couple of months now since summertime was here. Now that summer is just about over I may make a trip down to them again.
Zero for me. No LFS in North Alabama. Spend all my time drooling over photoshopped pics on the interweb. Just kidding .... well kinda....
On a side note... I own a design company so I can tell when they have been adulterated, and or poorly photographed.... But its still fun. And... Reallyyyyyy fun when you guys are calling out the cheeterz.
