This will be my first foray into tangs in about 15 years. I have a medium 4”-4.5” purple and a 2” blue tang and want to make sure I am feeding adequately. That said, I am curious as to 1) how much to feed while they are in QT and 2) how much once they are in the DT? I’m more concerned now in the QT due to keeping nutrients low. It’s a little harder to feed nori since they just shred it up without the large filtration of a larger tank but would also like to make sure they are happy later on. Seems like I’ll invest in a Neptune AFS once they come into the DT.

I feed twice a day in quarantine. You could tear off a small piece of nori and fold it several times to make it more sturdy before clipping it on the seaweed clip. I feed a little more in DT.

  • Not at all. Feeding demands don’t limit my stocking choices
