I have a 25 gallon tank and do a 4 gallon water change weekly. My RODI 5 gallon bucket can only fill to 4 gallons with the float switch, otherwise I would do 5 gallons weekly.

I haven't changed any for months now. And yet nitrate stays super low. I'd probably be an ace at growing acros, at least if my calcium/alkalinity would also stay magically stable for months on end. No idea why it stays that low, I don't even have a skimmer.

Auto WC's in my opinion are the best. Large WC's can impact parameters quickly. I do about a 12% WC per week, but it is done in smaller amounts daily by an auto WC system. I have found this method works best for me because the benefits of the WC happens without a major impact on levels.
