how often to shrimp molt?

how often do shrimp molt? my cleaner is molting about ever 2 weeks, is this a bad thing? or is this normal?

Its a good thing. That lets you know he is happy and growing! You are doing a good job with him!

Mine does it every few weeks as well. Always have to pull out shrimp skin off my Vortechs, haha. Mine are also carrying eggs too, which I've never seen.

Typically ive read that under ideal conditions they will molt once a month.

The first few times it happened, my wife called me at work to inform me that my pistol had died. She doesn't bother anymore. I've always wanted to capture it on video.

I pull mine out only cause it usually sticks to my powerheads, plus, I don't want something rotting in my tank. It can't really hurt to pull it out. I can't see it being beneficial for anything.

Mine seem to molt once a month... Or right after a water change...

yes we have all heard that. lol
shrimp molt every time they grow. if tis every week its just fine. if you had adults that dont molt 1 times a month well then i would say your iodine levels might be abit low

Mine molted every 2-4weeks intill my cakcoum, and iodine lvls droped a little. They didnt make it threw, was sad had them for almost 2 years.

this is true, although i do not suggest dosing iodine to a tank other then in very small amounts. this stuff can kill a tank quickly.

I've had them molt about once a month, I think the higher your Iodine levels are the more molting you will see.

Mine molts every month roughly i hate it it looks so weird IMO, i get it out right away it just floats around.

They do about once a month I think. As others have said, they seem to do it more often when you do water changes. I leave my skins in there, I heard a while back that they are full of nutrients that help others in the tank.
