I have been trying to breed clownfish for one and a half years or so. I have finally found the right amount of work it has required of me to take care of them (it was a painful experience). My Clarkiis have laid their first batch. Unfortunately I thought the Clarkiis would have eaten them and that it was going to be a dud. I now don't have a Rotifer system set up for them and I am pretty sure they are going to die :( . That was my fault. I want to know how soon clownfish will lay after they have already laid. I can see that my female Clarkii is pregnant again, but I still would like to know what the time period between each batch is (an average), and how long it will take for a rotifer system to set up.

All help is appreciated, thanks :)

If you cant feed them rotifiers and put them in their own tank they will die.

My experience which is just starting has been this
Black Ice pair
Lay day 1
Hatch on the 8th night
Lay again 2 or 3 days later
Lightning Maroon pair
Lay day 1
Hatch on the 6th and 7th night
Lay again 4 or 5 days later.

Different clownfish spawn and hatch on different schedules so really you want to just watch and take notes on when they lay, what night they hatch, and then how many days later do they spawn again. This is what I did for the first couple spawns.
Perfectly fine to let them lay a few times before trying to raise the fry and each time the number of eggs increased. You will need to have a good rotifer culture going for at least a week or so to build up a dense culture.

Hope this helps

A Regular clownfish schedule is around every 12 to 14 days. It takes about a week to get a good rotifer culture going.
