Hi, I've been reading up on how best to clean some dry rock I have sitting outside. Not pressured for time or anything, but I'm not sure of the best method to use. I was thinking of using muriatic acid and soaking the rocks in that, then leaving them out in the sun for a couple days. However, I haven't found any muriatic acid in Aus, all I've seen is hydrochloric acid.
I've read that hydrochloric acid and muriatic acid can be used interchangeably, is this true?
Thanks

If you want to kill all organics stored in the rock, soak it in a 1:10 bleach/water solution for a week. Then drain and lay all the rock out to dry. Leave to dry for a few days. Bleach breaks down harmlessly when it dries.
