Hi all. With all of the information out there about reefing, I might have missed this. When it comes to needed low rates for pumps and powerheads and what wattage you need for heaters, do you use the amount in the display tank, or the total volume including sump? Thanks in advance for all of your help.

For heating and dosing you want to use the total volume of tank and sump.

For flow in the tank, consider only the display tank size and volume.

Note on heaters;
The gallon rating on most heaters is high. If you can get a size up. Even better split that between 2 heaters
