My poor one snail is carrying around a ton of hair algae and this poor Gracilaria is covered in whatever this is and when I try to brush it off I break off Iimbs. Any tricks to remove this without destroying the whole piece ?

Think its hair algae. Will always outcompete macros. Once it gets going hard to eradicate. I would say an algae scrubber but would prob strip the same nutrients your macros need. Maybe someone with straight macro tank coukd chime in.

I figured it probably was hair algae too, but all my green macro algae is happy as can be, but then there is this poor red one, only thing covered other than a snail.

Healthy algae can keep itself clean. I would say the red algae is dying.
