Ive never had a female change bake to male after being female,I am familer with the anatomy of the fish quite well, and I dont see it being capable of changing back to a male after being a female.I might be wrong, and I can be wrong, not saying I am always right, but I have never seen this happen...It just dosnt make since.
Let me break it down for you as I see it.
The larger of the 2 fish,is always female, leaving the smaller of the 2 male.
If the larger one is to die,the smaller one will take its place and grow to a larger size taking the females place.
NOW,if the male is to die,the female will remain female, and pair up with a smaller mate if she chooses.
The female fish will always be larger, there for,the smaller fish know to "bow down" to her,ALWAYS keeping her female, and not changing back to male.
In the "clownfish equation" there is just not any way I can see a maroon changing back to male, there is NO WAY possible I see it!If she is female, she is already larger, and there for,the males know that!I just dont know what you are meaning.
Any way I can find a link to the information or a artical to this information that you have heard?
