How to mix kalk slurry

Hi I have a 600L system SPS

I have a 60L bin of RO water with a jado head in the to keep the slurry mixed
I would like to know how much kalk to add let’s say to 10L of RO water

I have a Geo Kalk Reactor. I did slurry for a while till I made it snow, then I backed off and haven’t hit the gas again. But, to have a slurry for a while (weeks) I would load 2 inches of kalk to the bottom of the reactor. I would then speed up my mixing motor and have it run longer and more often. I still put the same amount of kalk, I can go about 6 weeks before cleaning it out. I mix enough that I now keep the kalk suspended about 60% the way up the reactor.

I will say, before I had this reactor (2 years now, thing is a beast) I used a garbage can. I would do the 6.5g per gallon, I think that’s the ration, it’s been a long time) I never did slurry, but I would burn pumps out wicked often.

What is a jado head? and any powerhead will not last long at all in a kalk slurry, you will constantly be replacing them.

I also use a kalk stirrer. I used to fully saturate my kalk in my sto but it was hard to maintain stability. To get the best out of your kalk I’d suggest getting a kalkstirrer and dosing it

I have kalk mixed in a container and use a dosing pump to dose the same amount every day. Very stable and no pumps getting destroyed by kalk.

This is what I did for 6 years on my 180g using a brs 50ml minute doser and a cheap digital timer. I read up on slurry and decided if kalk couldn't keep up I would supplement with 2part or switch to 2part. Dosing slurry didn't sound appealing to me.

Are you really wanting dose a slurry? That's very hard to control, IMO.

Yep, that's what I'm doing. BRS 50ml doser on an APEX and then supplement with 2-part after the kalk is maxed out.
