Hello, my tank is 2 years old, mixed reef, corals doing well, however i decided around 2 months ago, to do awc, and iv been doing 1% a day. It dropped my nutrients over time from 0.36 ppm phosphate to 0.24ppm, and nitrate from 15 to 3ppm. I noticed that some corals getting *****, at this kind of nitrate, one of them is my dunca.

How do i raise my nitrate safely without raising phosphate, and keeping a balance between awc, and nitrate raising. My tank is 150G total water volume.

Beautiful tank. Most reef shops should have some form of nitrate dosing solution, you should raise your nitrates to desired levels and from there find out how much needs to be dosed to maintain the levels.

Ammonium and nitrate dosing are both ways you can increase nitrate overtime with no phosphate additions.

I doubt 3 ppm nitrate is causing the Duncan issue, but it won’t hurt raising it and seeing what changes.

Actually my mag was at 1290 raising it. Fixed my duncan. Im at 1380-1390 right now. Idk if that was the issue? Not sure trying to deal with one issue at a time

Doubt it. That 1290 ppm is already a bit over natural ocean levels of 35 ppt average seawater (1280 ppm)
