How to remove a sump baffle?

I dont have enough room for a skimmer in my first compartment. Need to move it a couple of inches. How do i go about doing that? Thanks.

depends. is it welded acrylic or siliconed?

Stupid question. How can you tell? I think its welded cuz i didnt see any silicone beads.

Take a pic and post it.

Also, most glass sumps are tanks with baffles glued in.

Acrylic tanks can come in different colors, so if its green/red.... it's acrylic and you'll need to cut the baffle out.

looks like acrylic to me.

You need a dremel or similar tool to cut the baffles out. Why can't you put the skimmer in the larger chamber to the right?

I can put it in the second chamber, correct me if im wrong, but as i understand it you'd need constant water level for the skimmer? I think the water level in my sump drop .5" everyday.

Beware removing a baffle in a acrylic sump. ... It can sometime be adding to the strength of the sump. Removing could make it bow more or split.

How big the system?

It might be easier to and baffle instead of cutting one out

Its a 120g. Even if i add a baffle and leave the other one in place id still dont have enough room for my skimmer.

Hello Drew, it was suggested to me that an oscillating cutter with a fine tooth blade will cut thru the acrylic. I have not tried this.
