In my tank I have this Hammer coral and some clove polyps have started to attach themselves onto the heads of the hammer. I've tried to just rip them off with tongs but it hasn't been Very effective. I did get some off and it's been able to open up more now.
But I'm wondering if there is a good way to fully remove them without hurting the hammer?

Grab at the base of the clove polyps with tweezers and pull.
Do that... and then scrub with a toothbrush in a separate bowl.
Rinse it off and place it back in the tank somewhere not close to those cloves.

FWIW, those micro-cloves are considered invasive and may spread ALL over if left unchecked.
