if you are familiar with these stands, can you please help me on how I shim the stand?

It’s low on the left, and low on the front going to the back. When I place a level on the floor, the floor is the same exact unevenness.

I am new to leveling and would love some advice - I’ve never done this before.

Do I put it under the corners? The corners have these little rubber things I had to stick to them. If the rubber gets knocked off by the shim, is that okay?

Do I have to drain the tank first?

It’s a 25 lagoon but after adding in water, it’s only 18 gallons.

Please help if you can, I would dearly appreciate it :(

Thank you

Idk.... for your situation.

I used wood shims for mine, do not do this for yours.

Get it as level as you can.

Fill it, and the final level will be the water inside the tank.

Adjust accordingly.

IM recommends using composite shims. Drain your tank until you can lift one side enough for a second person to slide in the shims. You don’t really want to damage the rubber if you can avoid it.

Do I put the shims only under the feet? Or do I need to put them the entire length?

Sounds like I’m going to need more buckets.

If IM recommends composite, that's what I would do.

Should just be under the feet.

Your level looks pretty close, considering small volume.
I need to fix one of the feet - the one on the right. I guess it’s time to tear down and composite up. Thank you for your time I appreciate it. Thankfully now rather than months down the road. Hard part is picking up the tank.

How's the water level inside the tank?

Measure 4 sides if you can from top of glass to water level.

If it's within an 1/8" you are good to go.

A perfect level is what hopes and dreams are made of.

Now on a big tank I would be aiming for perfect.

It’s off by give or take a little under 1/8th. It’s sitting between 1/16th, and 1/8th. Assuming under that point it’s not even worth the hassle?

It’s pretty dang hard to measure that corner since it’s up against a wall.

I would call it good.

Granted this it not my tank, house, floor. Lots of variables.

I think most people would have an anuresim if they watched me level my tank.

Small tank, 29 gallon, 15 gallon sump. Diy stand. 400 ish lbs. Set parallel with joists not perpendicular.

I HAMMERED WOOD SHIMS WHEN THE TANK WAS FULL. LOL!

Not an ideal situation, because when there is foot traffic the tank rocks ever so slightly.

Hey! If it worked, it works! I’d probably be sitting there like “Omg they are really doing that on 29?????” 29’s scare me because of how tall they are compared to how wide they are. They are nice to look at, but terrifying from a footprint standpoint. If your rock falls, it’s got a wonderful chance to catch the front or back glass on the way down.

I have no idea how my floors are running, just that the corner it’s in sags like heck. If I step about a foot away from the tank, the floor creaks so I feel you on that.

Ended up going to Home Depot and picked up some composit shims - 4 shims later and I'm about dead center level. Left them in long in case the floor decides to shift and rock on me again so I can tap them in or take them out easier. Woo!!!

I ended up shimming it from only the corners, and so far giving it a good ol’shake we have some normal minor swaying but nothing id wave a stick at.

Can’t believe the overflows are almost quiet now! One can only wish!

Thank you for accompanying me on this adventure.

I have a rimless 120 gallon tank and stand from Planet Aquarium. The tank was off front to back, with the back being slightly elevated. I used Bidrectional Break Composite Shims from HomeDepot in the front, inserting them under the stand - NOT TANK. I choose composite over wood because wood absorbs water. I did this before the tank was full.
