A good salt mix is important however their refractometer might be off. If you are paying someone to service your tank, you certainly have a right to mention it to them and ask them to use another. The same applies to the salt mix that they are using or provide your own. Reef Crystals is a good mix. I keep my water at 1.025-1.026.
The way to raise salinity properly is by increasing the amount on your next water change. For example - If your doing a 20% change then bump the salt up to about 1.030 or even 1.035 in the clean water you are going to add to your tank. You want to raise it slowly.
