I have a DD REEF pro 1500, My sump has a compartment for a refugium which contains ulva. How do I go about doing a water change to not flood my sump and force the algae everywhere?

The system has two down flow pipes with one adjustable.

How can I do a water change and not flood my sump?

You can either pull the lock line up to syphon les water to the sump or from the display or use a small pump and do your water change from the sump

I just forget about the sump. I turn off the return pump and skimmer and powerheads. I siphon the water out of the display into a brute trash can. After that, I pump my mixed saltwater from a brute trash can into the display. There are probably a blue million you tube videos on this.
