Hi all,

I have a huge Blue and Yellow Cod (Epinephelus flavocaeruleus) that is about 14 inches long. Do you guys think anyone would be interested in such a large fish (I live in LA)? Any estimates on what its worth because I honestly don’t know how to value such large fish? (Sorry if i posted this in the wrong forum).

Thank you

Tough to get rid of fish that size. You’ll more than likely have to end up giving it away or donating it if you can find an aquarium willing to take it.

Cod is good eating an it is home grown

I called the aquarium of the pacific and they said no and my friend with a 400 gallon tank also said no because his tank it too small.

Monterey Bay aquarium isn’t terribly far from you if want to try calling them.
Thats a very large fish full grown, unless someone has an indoor saltwater pond near you unlikely they will have an aquarium for an eventual 3 foot fish that will consume anything that fits in its mouth.

but (831) 648-4800, if they do not have a home maybe will be able to direct you to someone who will :)

Ive had the fish for several years and he eats extremely well. He also eats pellets.

Thank you for your response Gareth. I’ll try them out. A 5.5 hour drive is a bit much:)

sea world san diego has that shark exhibit, maybe they'd take it?

maybe reach out to some of the socal reefer groups and maybe they'd know of someone with a huge shark tank
