Ok guys so I live about an hours from where Hurricane florence is going to hit. I anticipate a loss of power. But I will be able to connect to a generator. Does anyone know how to program the Apex to run only certain outlets when there is no internet, or maybe when there is a power failure and it comes back on? I don't want to be plugging and unplugging outlets in the middle of a storm. Thanks

It you have a generator, make sure you have extra fuel. If power outage is really bad, fueling stations will not be able to pump gas.

You would have to use an ethernet cable and program via pc or note book.

So I can just connect the ethernet cable to my computer? how to I get to the dash board without the internet? I will have to plug in an ethernet cable to see what happens I guess.

how do I turn off the outlet manually short of unplugging them?
If you have internet and a generator, you can do it via the Fusion dashboard. If you don't have internet access, you should be able to log into the Apex via the web interface and turn the outlets off. If that is not an option, you will need to manually unplug them.

There is a port on the Apex, plug into the apex and computer. You will be talking to the apex directly via the ip> log in as admin and make your adjustment.

OK, let's say your power goes out. You get it back with a generator, but even though your power is now running, your internet is still down, so you can't access Apex Fusion. But both your Apex and your home network/wifi are working because your house is on generator power. Or if for some reason your wifi is out but your router is working, you can run a cable between the router and the Apex.

In either case, you just need to then access Apex Local, and turn individual devices on and off from there. To do this, open a web browser and navigate to 'apex.local' if you haven't ever renamed your apex system, or to '[yourapexname].local' if you have renamed it. Or you can use '[yourapexlocalipaddress]/apex/dash.' If you've never used Apex Local, it's basically the built-in version of Apex Fusion. However the tiles won't automatically be arranged the same as with Apex Fusion; you'll have to rearrange them and probably pull some out of the hidden tiles area.

Down load your current setting as a backup and when power is back up you have the last settings

In case none of this works and you have to unplug your equipment manually, make sure you have a written "map" of which piece of equipment is plugged into each outlet. That way you won't be stressing out about it in the middle of the storm. You might want to label each electrical cord too. It makes it easier to reconnect everything when your power returns.

You might want to download a backup file of your entire programming from Apex Local. Go to the Misc (wrench icon) page, click on the Load/Save icon (hard drive) at the upper left, and click Save Configuration. Also, take a screenshot of or download the Modules page, because in the worst case scenario, if you have to reconfigure everything, all the devices have to be connected in the same order with the same Aquabus addresses as previously, before restoring programming from the file, or it won't work.
