How are you guys holding up with all this?Flooring is now completed in the house. Should be picking up this build very shortly!
Well things are coming along, but it is a lot of work. Since the contractor ran off with money we are working with a very limited budget. Doing a lot of ourselves and it hard with work schedules, etc. I’m actually currently touching with painting and trying to finish our kitchen. Still have plywood as countertopsHow are you guys holding up with all this?
Its waterproof snaplock vinyl flooring. We were going to do tile but I don't like the cold floors you get with tile. Knock on wood we don't have the earthquake program here. You guys sure have a lot on your hands, and sheesh, I can’t think of a single polite thing to say about the crooked contractor. Your house has virtually the same lay out as my brother in law #3’s place in Breaux Bridge, but I don’t think I could convince him to throw a reef tank in there. Pretty sure he’d just throw all the fish into etoufee. It’s going to be real sharp there in the main room like that. I gotta admit I’d be scared to put the tv above my tank, out here on the west coast we get too many earthquakes for that! Is that flooring wood or snap lock laminate? It looks really sharp. My sister keeps trying to convince me to bring home a truckload of cypress flooring from down there, but I’m leaning more towards tile because we’re a working ranch here, and tile is just so easy to clean.
Yeah that way I got do something like sump built from a 60 gallon tank for more water volumeDid you decide to plumb it through the wall for the sump?
ThanksFollowing along! The flooring looks great!
Is that resurrected Tampa Bay rock? Looks a lot like the rock they used to sell in The Package. I always wondered if Louisiana has rules about collecting sand, mud, or sea grass plugs. Pretty sure Florida only allows it with a permit if I recall correct. That stand looks really, really good. It really ties together the sea to ceiling look in that space.Got it partly plumbed in. Moved some rock and sand and fill halfway with fresh ro/di saltwater. Ammonia levels are dropping quickly so should be ready shortly.
It’s a mix of reef saver rock and so old gulf live rock.Is that resurrected Tampa Bay rock? Looks a lot like the rock they used to sell in The Package. Added more rock to the display and getting the sump running in the room behind the display. I gotta pick up some filter sock, etc still for the sump
Very glad you managed to rebuild, it's quite the task to overcome- so well done! Share some fresh pictures of that eel-tank? - and the new build once you get it underway!
