Hurricane reefing

I want to create a three day hurricane in my reef for a deep cleaning. How would you do it? I’m thinking turning the power heads down for a hour the “calm before the storm” turn lights way down almost a “three day blackout”. Turn the pumps up and stir things up with DE filters running for three days and using Dr. Tim’s refresh. I’ll not run any filters for four hours after refresh. After three days ramp up the lights and add Dr. Tim’s waste away. I will run air pump from outside and micro bubble scrub with wooden air stone. Is there anything I’m missing or should do differently?

Use a turkey baster to blow off all that crud that builds up on the Rocks to get it in ur skimmer or sock. I like to blow up a section of sand while the pumps are off and suck out all the stuff that comes up and it keeps my sand really white and I havent had any nutrient build up after this last year. Careful tho I blew to hard on a lepterosis and set it back at least 2 weeks.

This tank has been running for 5 months now. About 150 gallons. No filters or skimmer just a refugium. Here are some pictures from now just before I start this hurricane.

So I’m basically going to run the Dr. Tim’s “Getting rid of Dinoflagellates” method. I’m thinking timing is important so I want to get it right and copy a hurricane. My lights normally run 6:30am to 7:30pm. Today started normal 6:30am lights on, feed fish at 6:45am, 12:30pm turn pumps and lights way down, 1:00pm install 10 micron filter sock and two magnum power filters with DE powder, 2:00pm start stirring 1/3 of the sand and blow 1/2 of the rocks, 6:00pm remove filters and feed the fish, 7:00pm dose refresh no filters till the next day stirring. Does this sound like a good plan?
