I had one a long time ago. I got tired of the click click click from the pumps since the hydors aren't slow-start. I'm not sure if any other non-controlled pumps like a tunze nanostream would do well being switched on and off like that.

The problem with this controller is that the pumps have a rubber stopper that gets wacked every time the pump goes on and off. That stopper gets broken pretty quickly, in my experience and then the on/off cycle will not work. They need to make it out of titanium to endure the wacking it receives: as a plastic piece, I had these things break within a few months

Alright thanks I'll probly just hold off on it then and just leave the power heads running maybe put a easy switch on them so I dont have to unplug for feeding

If you find one used and cheap, you can use this as your easy switch since there is a feed mode on the dial but you have to manually turn it off and on.

Mine lasted about a year before it stopped working.

I disconnected mine and have it just sitting under my tank. It’s not really controllable and useless if you ask me. Waste of money

I bought this:

I setup a schedule to run my lights (cheap LED), Return pump, moonlight and Hydor power heads:

I also set it up so I can tell Alexa to feed mode which turns off the pumps. Definitely worth the extra $10!

I have had mine for over a year and it works good. However i have it switching every 15 minutes, so it doesnt cycle alot. It is in my small tank 29 gallons. In my main tank i have the maxspect gyre which is my preference just too big for a small tank.
