Sorry in advance for what is probably a dumb question. Can the Hydros 4 Outlet power strips function as a "dumb" power strip until I get a control unit? I don't want to spend the extra right now on the controller but do need some strips so thought I'd just get the strips for now since I need them anyways and dabble with the controller later. Thanks!

No they require a Hydros Control. Otherwise it's just a power splitter that you can turn off and on with the button.

Great that's what I was after for now, sorry if my wording was off.

I see what you are after, and while I wouldnt recommend it, it will slightly work.

I say slightly because yes, when you do not have a HYDROS Control but you do have a WiFi Power Strip, when you press the button, all of the outlets/USB will be on/off. However, if you loose power, they will not come back on, they will stay off until you press the button once again.

So with that information please be careful if setting to anything life support.
