Hi all,

Just got my af4 and can’t seem to get it to work with my hydros collective. 99.9% sure I have everything setup correctly in hydros but I still can’t get it to operate through hydros. I flushed the lines per their instructions so I know the pump is working.

Hydros / af4 cable plugged into x4 0-10v output port
Orange 3.5mm plugged into af4

The connectivity light on the af4 is on but I’ve noticed it can be a bit finicky

@ind.aquatics @Connor At CoralVue

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Already reached out to ind support as well, just wanted to see if I could get some expedited assistance. Thanks

Please follow these updated instructions provided by iND, edited by us/myself to set this up as an advanced output, setting up as a variable pump is a outdated way and inefficient way to go about it.

Thanks for the quick reply. ive followed the steps and noticed that the af4 ran a feed after I changed dependency to on if on; but it doesn’t run on schedule or in the new mode.

I was able to get it partially operating through hydros by turning default to off [On], and removing the dependency to the virtual mode. This allows me to use the internal schedule. It seems that it’s having issue when having internal schedule on and the manual mode option available. I believe you have to pick one or the other?

when I have both setup, I have to override the status of the af4 to off in order to get it to work again because I don’t think it’s otherwise hitting 0v?

If you could create a support ticket, we could look into this further by remoting in and seeing exactly what may be happening.

I noticed in the first screenshots, the output was setup as the Orange 0-10v on the quad cable, but later Black was chosen. Though, if you are able to get any reaction, that should indicate that this device is on the correct quad cable. Please create that support ticket and we can assist further.

The one thing I would check to make sure of, is that the Virtual Output for your manual feeding mode, make sure that is ONLY active in the aF4 Feeding Mode. As you said, you are able to get it to go after flipping off then on, never getting back to 0v. That would make sense if this Virtual Output is never turning off as its active in normal mode.

@Connor At CoralVue thank you so much for jumping in on this and helping out(and for writing us those detailed instructions!) We’re definitely rookies with the Hydros system and appreciate you taking care of @towels.

I think we got back to you as well via our ticket system - but basically gave you the same info Connor did.

Yes, thank you both @Connor At CoralVue.

AF4 has been operating smoothly with the internal schedule. Very exciting to finally get a frozen feeder and it’s a huge win that it has 0-10v control

Wish I got it sooner!

What I would love is to be able to power this thing from the Kraken and eliminate that power brick!!
Its possible. I saw that it uses a 12V supply but can't find the current/power rating. You could use a 24V to 12V step down converter if the power rating is there on both the converter and force port (8A max). Just have to make sure never to run it off battery since I couldn't find a 12-24V IN to 12V out converter.

I haven't setup my battery yet. Is there a way to exclude certain force ports from running off battery?

Yes, once you have a low power mode setup in the Hydros only the outputs that are set to on will run in that mode. They will still operate as usual and are not forced on. The Hydros will enter low power mode when running on the batteries. Below is a screenshot of a part of my low power mode settings.
