Hydros Float Switch

Hi guys, float switch doesn’t have accurate input - reading backwards. I flipped the float and it read correctly for about 2 minutes then went back to wet even when out of the water. Is there a fix to this. I want to use this as a backup to my ATO sensor. If sensor fails I want float to alarm wet and kill outlet for ATO pump.

Are you sure the float did drop all the way down? You should be able to move it by hand out of the water each way but give the controller time to update. It won't be immediately. Since the controller has to see the change and then upload that to the cloud server which will send it to the device you have the app on that you are using.

You seem to know Hydros well, and I seem to remember you have a neat water setup. Thanks in advance for your help. I have a working ATO with the newer triple optical sensor. I just installed a float switch that I want to use as a backup/failsafe. I successfully added the float switch. It reports "wet" or "dry" accurately, but it is not acting as a failsafe for the ATO. I searched and I think it has something to do with setting dependencies. IDK. Can you please give me instructions? Much appreciated.

Which type of ATO output are you using? Is it the one in the AWC output or a separate output? Is the depends on being used for anything. There are several ways to use a separate input as a backup off. I have 4 inputs I use as a backup off and my ATO is in the AWC output but I use the ATO depends on setting and a separate output I have setup. Below is the inputs to the output used in the ATO depends on. This output is on if there is no issues and the ATO is ok to run when needed. I set the dependency mode to off if off on the ATO depends on. Also make sure and set a maximum on time in the advanced settings as well as setting run past max on time to off so if the output is on as long as it is set for any single top off event it will turn off. You can also setup an alert if that happens so you will know it did happen and can check on things. Mine is set for a maximum on time of 3 minutes but I have a dosing pump set at 55ml a minute as the ATO pump so that is not a lot of top off but I only have a 42 gallon tank.

A couple times I have had an issue where my tank didnt drain water during AWC. So of course my water level in the sump got too high. It also raised salinity. I'd like to add a sensor in my sump that notifies me if water level is too high. Do you recommend any of the water level sensors in particular for this?

I use a float switch for my high sensor. I also have a low sensor. I had the sump out when I was changing things before I had the tank finally setup and attached is a photo where you can see the float switches in the sump.
