Just bought a Hydros system and a bunch of sensors - Will be building my own network and letting it run control things as I am away from my tank for 50% of the year.

What cool hacks do you have/use on your collective.

Click on my "My Tank Thread" banner on my post and go to page 6 post #119 to get to my Hydros info in my build thread, There is lots of screenshots in the post on the Hydros. As they came out with new features I discussed them and how I used them. My largest collective now has 15 controllers in it and controls things at the tank and at the mixing station in the garage. I also do alkalinity testing with the iV and X10. Let me know if you have any questions.

Join the FB group. The wealth of knowledge there is tremendous and even though I probably post 1-3 threads daily everybody hasn't ignored me as I'm new to Hydros as well!

Hi mate,

I am in an exact same position.. I am still trying to figure out how viable it is to achieve this! haha

I have been doing it for about the past 6 months, but I haven't been working away as much as I will be in the future (still quite a lot though). Thankfully my father has been able to stop by when I have needed it, but I do not want to keep relying on him as much as I have been

I would be interested to hear some things that you have implemented! I too am trying to automate as much as I possibly can, along with having multiple redundancies built in.. I have only just setup my Hydros though, so I would be happy to stay in touch in the hope that we may be able to share ideas and help each other out!

😎🤙🏽

Away 50%, for how long generally per trip.

Automation can do a ton, and a remote camera so you can view, but if I were to travel that much I'd probably not run a reef tank, or I'd make sure I had "People contingencies" in place if I were to see an emergency happening.

IF YOU HAD TO OPERATE EVERYTHING ELSE MANUALLY, WHICH AUTOMATED SYSTEM WOULD YOU KEEP?
