Here is an example of a complex function I have my Hydros doing. It requires 6 outputs to do it. It is the function of refilling the fresh saltwater reservoir from the mix tank when the fresh saltwater reservoir goes low but only if the mix tank contents is ready to use. Also I don't want the fresh saltwater reservoir to overfill but I also want the transfer to continue until the mix tank goes low. So there has to be conditions set to make sure that does not happen. Also if a leak has been detected near those reservoirs I also want the transfer to either stop or not start. I have this setup using 6 outputs. Below is a gate logic diagram of how this is setup. Each gate in the diagram is an output. If you are using an output as an input on another output you will need to use the advanced combiner output type which can be set to accept up to 9 inputs and you can use either the AND or OR combiner mode. The inputs can also be inverted for logic purposes. In fact the invert on the FSW Full and Mix Low outputs actually occurs at either the FSW Hold or FSW Fill in the input settings. But for simplicity in the diagram it is shown at the the FSW Full and Mix Low outputs. Those to outputs are just converting an input to a output so they can be used in the combiners as inputs. The other two inputs to this are the FSW Low sensor and the Mix Ready output latch. So if both the Mix Ready latch and FSW Low sensor are high it will start the transfer from mix tank to the fresh salt water reservoir. the pump output will stop if the either FSW Hold or FSW Full goes high since that one is inverted in the FSW Fill output. The only output here that has a an output device assigned is the FSW Fill output. The other are just used for the logic but still show as outputs and do have a log you can check to see when they are turned on and off. Four of the outputs here are combiner outputs and the other are generic outputs. The FSW Low and FSW fill are set to the AND combiner mode. The other 2 are set to the OR combiner mode. The FSW Fill output also has a maximum run time of 30 minutes set. If it exceeds this the output will turn off and it will send an alert that it has exceeded the maximum on time. The last transfer took about 21 minutes. so it should not be on any longer than that at any one time. The fresh saltwater reservoir last about a month so I have almost a month to get the salt mix in the fresh DI in the mix tank and press the mix tank ready button. The mix tank low is the input used to stop the transfer and that also triggers the auto fill sequence for filling the mix tank back up with DI water from the RODI unit which the Hydros also controls. That I also consider a complex setup. They do now have a RODI Filter output type which makes it easier if just filling one reservoir but I use it to refill two the mix tank and the DI reservoir so That is a little more complex to do but can be done. The output here is mislabeled since it says DI Fill Output.
