Are the older Hydros controller models that have the BNC connector ports able to monitor salinity, or is that only for the newer models (X10 forward)?

Even though it uses a BNC connector the Salinity port is completely different than pH/ORP and cannot be used for the other. So only the controllers that have a salinity port can monitor salinity and at this time it is only the Launch or X10 controllers.

Correct. The circuit is totally different and making a dual mode port is more difficult (really just cost complexity)

@JeffB418 (assuming you work for Hydros) you should add a Salinity Probe option for future X4 models

If you want a salinity port on a Hydros at this time the only two controllers that have that port are the X10 and the Launch. I have two X10's and 2 salinity probes. One is in a iV and the other in the refugium. I do not have a Launch but if you are starting a Hydros collective it may be a good starting place if you need a salinity probe. If not then the X4 Pro Pack would be my other choice. It does not really matter as you can add on to either with other controllers after creating a collective and adding the new controller or controllers to the collective. Both of my X10's are in the same collective with 13 other Hydros controllers.
