Anybody here using a Hydros Smart Plug device?

I am researching smart plugs with respect to heater operation in terms of monitoring, alerts, or even a shutdown feature if the heater fails ON.

TIA

Smart plug must be used with a hydros Control and can’t be used stand alone. Also they are not recommended for critical equipment like heaters.

Yep, discovered the need for a Control unit. Capitalism (yield marketing) wins again.

Since you don't have a Hydros there are many other options and I have 3 inkbird heater controllers for my system. Each one has two plugs and they make a wifi version to check in remotely and set up warnings as well.

I run a sumpless system (Oase canister instead). So, I have to pursue alternate methods when it comes to stuff such as this. There are other means (Google Home, Apple Home, etc.) when it comes to smart plugs, but geeze researching all this stuff is another hurdle to surmount (1st world problems). ;-)

Just make sure whatever smart plug you have can handle the amperage and wattage of the heaters.
