I have the most beautiful LARGE hydnophora coral, i was trying to break it off a rock, and it had a clean break in to 3 pieces. If i try to glue it back together, or very close to reach other on a new rock will they compete with one another or just fuse back together? They were the same piece, obviously same species. My goal is to just try and get them to grow back together.

I believe it is the encrusting kind however under it , it has a cup shaped skeleton.

picture was before its break - while he was eating his buddy below
