What are some softies and leathers that would do well in a small aquarium? They should be beginner friendly.

Toadstools, mushrooms, zoas, kenya tree. Those worked for me so far.

I had a Fluval 5 gallon for 5 years. I did a daily water change of one dixie cup a day. No skimmer. It was sadly my most successful tank. I had a candy cane coral several zoas, a hammer, goni and acros. It never had fish just one shrimp and snails.

I prefer fish to coral, but I have a pico aquarium that I'd like to have coral in and see if I would like to have coral as well. I have a toadstool coral I really like to watch along with the fish.

Good flow and good lighting, and a nice piece of neon cabbage leather should be difficult to kill. Lol.

You could do rock flower’s or maxi minis with some sexy shrimp. That would be a really cool setup. Your BTA and LTA get too large for that size tank.

Sli have lots of experience including under 1 gallon. Almost any coral can work. I do recommend simplicity depending on size. For anemones I recommend rockflower. They don't get massive come on all sorts of colors, you can still add a anemone shrimp or crab. I do recommend cylinder tanks 3 gallons or under as air pump and light is all you need. I did 100 percent water changes but not always necessary depending on stock. What size are you planning? This will help determine as well.

In my 15" nano cube I have, 2 leather coral, 1 octospawn, 1 frogspwan, 2 gorgonians, 3 gonipora, 37 total coral.
Small bag of carbon, filter floss, 2 part and that's it.

I have a maxspect dice pico 2.5 gallon aquarium I'm planning to use. I started in this hobby with it before I moved to my 45g. I bought it in March and the pumps died in June. I'm going to replace them before I restart it.
I will not buy anything from Maxspect again. They are a terrible company to work with and their products are junk.

Over a long enough time, any coral will likely grow too large for a nano. Doesn't mean you can't keep a torch or lobophytum and let it grow!

I can always trade back to the LFS or sell it. I just miss having an aquarium in my office to watch during my day. It's a advantage of working from home.

Would a submersible water pump work for a 1gal, for water movement? With daily 1 cup water changes or once a week 90% water changes?
