You are talking about a different pest entirely. For red bugs, you remove shrimp and crabs during treatment with Interceptor. ReVive won't do a thing to them.

AEFW deserves a thread of its own. And hopefully a solution one day.

I bought a wild mili one time brought it home and dipped it and it had hundreds of the dang things it went from the dip to the trash.... As for your red bugs I would leave them in your tank and nuke the whole system no reason to remove anything besides shrimps and crabs etc... All corals should be treated..

If your having trouble getting Interceptor, try some of the online pet medications shops. They seem to be a lot less uptight about these things and are typically cheaper than your local vet even when you add shipping.

No clue where to get it lol... There was something I remember reading about typing up a page to take to your local vet to make it a little easier... I tryed a online place one time like pet meds and I couldn't get them without a script..:( good luck...... I would try your local vet just print out a few pages on the subject and see what happens...hth

Congrats!!!
So thats all it takes to get rid of the red bugs? Just one treatment of interceptor like that? Does it have to be old and in an old tupperware container too :)

nah, need to do 3 week treatment once a week. i posted above that the buggies were back after the first dose. so i'll be dosing tomorrow night again. i cut the large unflavored dog tab into 3 pieces (see MELEVS REEF for specific instructions) pulverize one into powder in a small bowl, then mix with tank water. stir for about 5 mins and dump into tank. make sure skimmer isn't producing bubbly but still running. 24hrs later add alot of carbon to take out chems and I did a 25% water change. thought i got them all....

I did a water change after the third treatment, which coincided with my monthly water change anyway. Run 1/2 cup carbon per 50g of water the day after each treatment, and resume skimming.

I did just what Marc described... I changed water when it was due but not after each treatment... I'm about due for a nuking myself... My corals always seem happier after I do it even thou I have never saw a red bug in a couple years... Lol

hahah we need to find (if there is one) a more "natural" predator of red bugs. that way i don't have to go asking all my pitbull owning buddies if they can get some for me.

You could... Is the mili worth it thou??? I mean if there all on that one mili which is possible but not likely I would just toss the whole piece... Have you removed it and inspected for bite marks or eggs???? Missing flesh is a tale tale sign where flesh is missing eggs are laid... I never dealt with them in a tank just received pieces or bought them and dipping found them... Once I looked closely at them it seemed there was always flesh missing around the base and eggs right there....
