i bought a scooter blenny today without knowing anything about it. i dont ever do this but he looked so cool. i got home and did my reserch and found out it needs live food. i put copepods in my dt. but none in my qt. i think im going to move it into the dt and cross my fingers. the real question is in the last 6 months ive put about 2000 copepods in my tank will that be enough till the ones i ordered today arive. or do i need to go get some its a 2 hour drive to the nearest lfs i trust

That is the only thing my pair of Mandarin will eat. Live baby Brine. I'm sure scooters will too

Yea they eat most any live frozen. Easy easy fish. IME

Try fish eggs from Rods, we use them in the store to get picky eaters like blennies and mandarins to start taking prepared frozen food. Then switch them over to something like cyclopese or brine.

I have a black and white scooter blenny that I have never seen eat and have never fed directly. He's been in my tank for a couple months now, and he seems happy and fat. I feed my tank frozen mysis and pellets

I second the cyclopeeze. My scooter goes to town. Also try hatching your own bbs- very easy and inexpensive. Scooters love em.

Pods are expensive. Good to have. But if that is your plan, then begin culturing your own as they can break the bank.

Scooter blennies can and will eat all your lps corals and decimate the tank within a 24hr period, take it back to the fish store where you bought it and don't look back. OK so I'm kidding, however I agree with the above comment of training him on dry/frozen foods while in the qt tank, furthermore, as you stated, it's always a mistake to buy a fish without knowing anything about it, why compound the situation by skipping the qt process, you've made the effort of actually setting one up to avoid the massive headaches that comes with the possibilities of adding fish directly to your reef. Two wrongs are never good to make a risky right, anyhow good luck with the little fella, they're kinda hypnotic to watch.
