Is that why my frags keep falling? lol

But seriously, the salt might work, but I got like 4 cuts from trying to remove the glue with the knife. I am not willing to burn myself …acetone and cuts hurt baaaad.

I was not thinking straight and I was impatient.

Next time I will be more careful lol.

probably... frags eventually are easy to just pop off. Corals eventually grow and attach themselves, hopefully before a large fish or jerk urchin pulls it off.

That is why people shouldn't just superglue rocks together and use some sort of epoxy.

lol at the knife.. next time lotion it up and try a razor blade... the one to shave with not... one to cut yourself more lol... could maybe shave it off if that was the approach you wanted.

What’s your solution to avoid super glue? I can’t stand it anymore.
Old school, i find a little crevice and wedge the Frag in. The only types of frags that it’s difficult with is sps, but all the other types eventually grow over the Frag and on to the rock, holding it in place for good

I feel your pain which is why I tried to glue frags down and never did again and gloves I learned just stick together lol! Also when I use nail glue on my nails it gets all over sometimes it’s terrible!

I actually find it somewhat gratifying peeling off the glue. Kinda like when you get a sunburn and you peel the skin. Weird, I know. :)
I also enjoy peeling it off. Although sometimes it takes the skin with it which is uncomfortable.

This might be my worst experience yet.

The bottom of the glue tube had a puncture, so squeezing the tube got glue on my hand.

I sucked it up and continued gluing, with each squeeze resulting in more glue in my palm.

I poured 100% acetone and then tried scraping it with a knife.

It is 8pm, and my brain must not be working optimally.

Here’s the result of my madness:

I'm terrible with super glue. I can glue myself to anything, but my frags fall off, and I just got glue on my zoas.
As far as getting it on my hands, my husband uses a lot of acetone for work, so he keeps gallon jugs of it. I can't stand waiting for support glue to wear off on it's own.

Update,

My hands are perfectly fine after 2 days from making this thread.

I use a combination of super glue and epoxy (While wearing gloves.) This is working SO much better! I haven’t had a coral fall with this method yet!

I tried the epoxy before, but I think I nailed down the method for good!

:)

A bit late to this post but I’ve found that the glue / epoxy / glue sandwich works well for me. There’s a great video on Tidal Gardens about mounting frags
