Or, at least I did have one last night!
It was about my reef tank! Instead of my current 120 system I had some kind of horseshoe shaped, hugely over-sized (probably close to 1000G), SPS heavy, polished oak canopied beauty of an impossibility unless you are dreaming!
Do you know how long its been since I dreamt about my reef system?! Not nightmares because of problems, but actual dreamy dreams. Well, its been a long time! LOL!
When I first got into this hobby/obsession I could not get enough information! Either reading books, searching websites (We all know we have to be careful there! Don't ever search "long slimy thing in a box" unless you add descriptors like "fish" "worm" or "coral" with it!) reading on forums or talking to friends!
Learning about fish, corals and inverts was like my morning cup of coffee. I needed it! Actually, it usually coincided with my coffee. It usually started my days on my laptop and finished them searching sites on my phone lying in bed trying to fall asleep.
I literally saw corals everywhere in everyday objects! Walking through the yard looking down, GSP! Driving down the road looking at the Crepe Myrtles that line our streets, Frogspawn colonies! Eating a bowl of fruit loop cereal, Acans! Strolling along at the beach looking for shells with my little boy, well, that was obvious! Haha! But you get what Im saying. I was mentally addicted!
Unfortunately, as time goes by we start to have our first issues with our systems. Work starts becoming a reality again. Family life takes its rightful place in the forefront again. Financial budget looms back into view after somehow being totally unnecessary and whimsical while procuring funding for setting up the system! You know, the "honeymoon" is officially over.....
Well, fast forward a score or more of months. Life blurs by at that blinding speed only someone with a toddler can appreciate! Going through the motions, both with the reef system and life at times! A couple upgrades later. A house purchase so I can finally get that large system I have always wanted..... Now I have found this forum that seems to have members that get it. They are responsive, helpful, sympathetic, kind and most of all generous with information beyond anything you could get on any one single website or book! I have spent many hours each night the last week or so pouring over the multitude of forum sections learning and refreshing info long since forgotten.
So, I had a dream last night....
Thanks to all here that have and will fuel reef and fish dreams and get people pumped up again about their systems!
