I have 125 (I think) gal aquarium that is missing trim. I would love to make it a saltwater tank but I dont know if it is a good idea with the trim gone. Has anybody dealt with this type of thing before?

I have not dealt with something like this, but I worry how it got taken off in the first place, and how strong the current silicone is... Have you tried a leak test?

I've had it about a month now. I feeled it up out in the garage for a few days and it held. Im just iffy about spending the number the money and it failing on me.

I would leak test it for days maybe weeks to make sure it's good before you try to set it up.

Also just some help with size

4'x2'x2' = 120
6'x18"x21" = 125

Oh since you've done the leak test and it held maybe you could order trim from glasscages (or a place like it) and put new trim on.

These tanks are really strong but that's because they hold a lot of weight and I would hate for it to fail on you as well.

Loki2902 I did out in my garage. It held. Im just worred that the added weight of the sand and rock will break the seal. My measurements are weird. It's 72'x16.5'x25.5'

I'm not sure that sand/ rock is much more dense (if any) than water. I would fill it to the brim and let it sit for a few days. It should be more weight that it would have to normally hold.

Sounds like a 125 but taller than normal. So maybe a 135?

Hehe... I had them plus more in a 75 :) you should be fine with them in that tank.

Those plus a pair of clowns, Niger trigger, foxface, 18" snowflake eel and maybe more.

The tank was crowded and that was before I knew about forums or anything and only went off of what the LFS told me.

Anyways, yes should be okay in there
